Amy Brolsma gives a three-turn theory lesson with diagrams on the ice. This presentation is important and EVERY skater and coach should understand this information thoroughly. Today’s skaters often lack a basic understanding of what is actually happening in their turns. And many young coaches also have never really been exposed to these ideas. Back in the day, figures training made sure that all skaters and coaches understood these concepts and had the tools to fix problems based on the tracings. This is an important video and deserves your attention.

Thanks for the clarification between skid and scrape… great information at the end that the skid becomes more prevalent when executing the turn at higher speeds.
