Figure Skating Camel Spin Tips For Edge Change (Audrey Weisiger)

Audrey Weisiger describes how to teach change of edge camel spins.  This complements the earlier video from Audrey discussing basic change of edge spins.  Audrey covers specific body positions and placement on the blade.  In this video, Audrey works with a skater so you can see what goes wrong and how she builds the skill.  Audrey is a genius at creating safe drills to develop proper feelings and this video has many examples of this.

Audrey is an Olympic coach and we are very lucky to have her contributions to iCoachSkating.com.  Please leave a comment for Audrey or other members below.

I really liked the excercises and have already started using them with my skaters-even the young ones

Thanks so much! All of these specific drills for the change edge camel are fantastic.

I love the exercises to help them get the feeling of the proper balance point. This will be a great addition to the practice lists. Thanks Audrey!!!

I feel at least encouraged to start playing with them. I think her comment about figuring out how to do them, if you know you have to, is right.

Wow, great tips to use! I appreciate all of them, Audrey! I have never done change of edge spins myself and tried the back spin to forward inside the other day (from the other video) and it worked like a charm! My students are in for some great fun! Thanks!!!
