1 Foot Spin: Figure Skating Tips – Entry With 3 Turn (Bobbe Shire)

Bobbe Shire talks about using the forward inside three turn entry for forward spins.  She is not fond of the entrance and she explains why.  She gives an alternative that she prefers to add variety to programs so all spins don’t use the cross-over/wind-up setup.

Many young skaters often have a better forward spin using the inside three when they are first learning because they are usually not under control and the three turn gives them some rotation.  Learning to step properly and generate rotation from a controlled entry edge is generally easier to accomplish using a different entrance.

I love falling leaf , inside three it helps me with speed and torque and adds a little variety.

So much spin information from her! LOVE the idea of using Stars to come into a camel/flying camel/sit etc. It’s nice to have variety in regards to entry on spins – gives a bit more room for freedom in choreography. Great little video and explanation 🙂 Thanks Bobbe!
