Grace Lee introduces herself and allows us to watch her skaters do their daily off-ice warm-up. This video is just the first portion of the first part of the overall warm-up. The warm-up consists of 3 parts which take between 50 and 60 minutes to complete. The first part alone takes about 25 minutes. This video covers about the first third of this 25 minute routine.
Grace developed this warm-up to aid her skaters not only in getting ready to go on the ice but also to build strength and quickness as well as body control and awareness. Grace’s skaters do this warm-up routine 5 or 6 times a week before they skate. Notice that this warm-up is done as a group, and the group nature of the warm-up helps keep the skaters motivated and engaged, even if Grace is not supervising.
Most of the drills are self-explanatory. All of the drills are included in this video in cases coaches elsewhere want to apply some or all of these to their skater’s training. Throughout the video, Grace explains what is happening and why she has the skaters do particular movements. You’ll also hear the voices of Trevor Laak and Chris Conte who were visiting and asking questions and making comments.
Please leave a comment welcoming Grace to iCoachSkating.com. She was very generous in sharing how she trains her skaters in Korea.

Hello grace welcome to icoachskating!! Thank you for all of these wonderful exercises! THANKS SO MUCH!!!
LOVE IT! I really like the “together” piece of the exercise! What a great opportunity for everyone at iCoachSkating – to see International Training Systems! WOW! THANKS TREVOR!
I am a coach and personal trainer and I do these exercises at the top of a workout for clients at the gym. We call it “dynamic stretching”. It puts the body/joints you are about to use in your workout through their full range of motion for a proper warm-up. I had never seen the last one with the tap toe-skip turn either. Great stuff!
LOVE THIS!! Will be putting this in the old Black Book for our skaters at the rink!! Welcome Gracie, and thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
