Grace Lee continues to share the warm-up routine that she created for her skaters. You can view thefirst warm-up video here. In this portion of the warm-up, the skaters use a ladder on the ground. This is the middle portion of the first part of Grace’s warm-up.
Again, Grace developed this warm-up to aid her skaters not only in getting ready to go on the ice but also to build strength and quickness as well as body control and awareness. The warm-up is done as a group, and the group nature of the warm-up helps keep the skaters motivated and engaged, even if Grace is not supervising.
Most of the drills are self-explanatory. All of the drills are included in this video in cases coaches elsewhere want to apply some or all of these to their skater’s training. Throughout the video, Grace explains what is happening and why she has the skaters do particular movements. You’ll also hear the voices of Trevor Laak and Chris Conte who were visiting and asking questions and making comments.
Please leave a comment welcoming Grace to iCoachSkating.com. She was very generous in sharing how she trains her skaters in Korea.

Wow. The ladder – amazing what you can think to do with it. Who would have thought of the way Grace uses it. Loved the last exercise.
