Nick Perna follows up his forward slalom drills to generate edge power with the backward versions of these drills. There are important details to doing these drills properly as Nick explains in the video.
As with the forward drills, these backward drills are all done on 2 feet and are appropriate for all skating levels. Again, the timing of the crunching sound is important and there should be two crunches for every lobe of the drill. This is much more challenging than it sounds.
These are fabulous drills to developing power.

Wow! These are fantastic skills! I have to watch this several more times to get it in my head but they will be very useful with my little kids that need to get going on power pulls. These exercises should really help with timing issues.
