Nick Perna continues his off-ice jump class. This is the third part of a multi-part video series (see Part 1and Part 2). In this video, add the landing position to the drills already covered. Notice the difficult many of the skaters have with hitting a stable and strong landing position.
This is a short video, but Nick makes a very important observation. He says, “Balancing is an underappreciated form of conditioning. The simple act of balancing on one leg is a form of core muscle conditioning.”
The only technical information Nick offers in this video has to do with staying over the landing hip in the landing position. He briefly demonstrates common problems of popping the landing hip out and twisting.
