Tom Hickey describes some basic on-ice take-off drills he uses with his skaters for axel, toe loop, and flip. These exercises are aimed at developing balance, strength and control. The toe loop drill is helpful for correcting or preventing toe axels. Notice how Tom helps his skater balance (reference to pairs and split twist) in the desired position.

Thanks Tom! The toe loop exercise has already helped one of my skaters to land her double toe!! I have also been using your off ice jump exercises which have helped her jump height!
